The Scientist Rebellion or Extinction Rebellion is a global climate change advocacy alliance composed of scientists and activists from different backgrounds. This campaign can contribute to the group’s Climate Emergency Fund which assists activists who risk being imprisoned and help finance activist events. “You Can’t Drink Money” is a one-of-a-kind graphic that debuts information on the detrimental effects of fracking on the environment. “Scientist Rebellion” is an additional digital design that showcases the scientists and activists protesting as they did in April 2022. Both digital illustration and graphic design can be screen-printed and placed on sellable items such as lanyards, t-shirts, and stickers.

My Creative Process
The ultimate goal of this campaign is to support the scientists and activists within the scientist rebellion. I decided to brainstorm some promotional illustrations of those individuals and place them in an article about their protest in 2022. While sketching these people side by side, I found that putting them in front of the world would make it look like they are protecting it (much like their mission and overall message as a group). Following this shape, a fish eye effect worked best. This made them easily recognizable and together act more as a graphic element. I then brainstormed an even more graphic and supporting design. I chose fracking because I found that it had an interesting silhouette while looking at images of hydraulic-fracturing equipment. Then I incorporated the silhouettes of letterforms into the equipment. After some research, I chose to premier some information alongside the design to persuade further and inform those who may not be aware of the negative impacts of fracking.
