Hello!

My name is Crystal Meza

I’m a Chicago-based artist and graphic designer who specializes in brand marketing campaigns and editorial design. I have a B.F.A. in Art Direction from the American Academy of Art College in Chicago, Illinois. As someone from a family of artists, I’m an idea person at heart and usually write down ideas and sketch throughout the day. My creative journey has led me to believe that my purpose in creating was no accident.

While honing my skills as a visionary, I became more fearless and excited to explore different techniques, styles, and opportunities to make an impression. Driving further from my perfectionist mentality to simply requiring high standards has taught me that a successful design must be handled with great attention to detail and an understanding of one’s audience. My creative process begins with list-making, sketching, and brainstorming, putting all my client’s needs and wants at the forefront. This allows me to enhance concepts as they emerge. Knowing when to let go of an idea when it loses its force and influence on my audience is another crucial aspect of this process. If I’m not busy designing, I also enjoy abstract painting on fiberglass and canvas with acrylic for fun, watercolor painting to relax, and creating digital and fine art for activist movements and issues on a global scale.

I use multiple industry-leading platforms like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects. I believe that any good idea can have longevity and flourish with masterful typography, on-target visuals, and inspirational copywriting.
